The Song Company is Australia's only full-time professional a cappella ensemble. Since 1984 it has built up an enviable reputation for its versatility and freshness of sound, repertoire and presentation as well as its remarkable standard in concerts, broadcasts and recordings. Directed by Roland Peelman since 1990, The Song Company believes in the power of the human voice in all its expressions. The unique and eclectic repertoire of old and new music from ‘pops’ to contemporary Australian compositions, including several music-theatre works such as the 2003 ‘Venetian Carnival’, and the 2007 production of the Mediaeval Easter Mystery Play Visitatio all bear testimony to that simple vision.
